Photo Abstract Editorial
A Codex Skill that preserves the source photo while extracting its space, composition and color into minimal editorial work
What it is
Photo Abstract Editorial is a Codex Skill that turns a single photo into a vertical editorial piece composed of the original photo area, an abstract panel, and an optional English title. The photo area preserves the subject along with its texture, lighting, and color, while the abstract panel extracts elements from the spatial relationships, composition, color, and structure actually present in the photo.
You can copy the repository's Skill folder into ~/.codex/skills/ and use it with a photo in a new Codex conversation. It also offers a way to reuse only the Chinese and English prompt files without installing the Skill.
The photo-to-panel ratio, color, abstract format, typography, and degree of abstraction are all adjustable.
Perspectives
LOOPY (2026-08-18, X)
It is a Skill that analyzes a photo's composition, space, and color and reconstructs it in a minimal illustration style.
How to apply
- Insert it into the drafting step that converts a product photo or founder shot into an exhibition poster or editorial image tied to the original.
- Where IP as Logo pins the generation constraints of a mascot logo, this Skill preserves the original photo while limiting the abstract panel's source to inside the photo.
- See the same image generation and editing approaches together in Image & Video Generation & Editing.
Limits
It is free only for personal, educational, and non-commercial use; commercial use is not permitted. As of the source ingested on 2026-08-18, result quality and cost per generation model, and compatibility with environments other than Codex, were not confirmed.
