Snapr
A macOS and Windows capture app bundling screenshots, screen recording, annotation and editing into one shortcut
What it is
Snapr is a macOS and Windows capture tool that bundles screenshots, screen recording, annotation, and editing into a single app and shortcut. It supports region, window, and full-screen capture, scrolling capture, system audio and microphone, and a camera overlay; on macOS it can also capture an iOS device connected over USB.
After recording, you can apply automatic and manual zoom, click/shake/speed effects, cursor replacement, and background compositing. It records up to 4K 60fps and exports to H.264, AV1, and GIF, and the official page states that capture data stays on the device and the app works offline.
All features are included in the free plan. As checked on 2026-08-19, a $9.99 one-time Lifetime purchase removes notifications and provides a digital membership card.
How to apply
- Record product tutorials, onboarding, and short demos, then post-process zoom, cursor, and annotations to cut down on switching to a separate editor. Compare Recordly when a free open-source Mac workflow and reusable project files are the priority; if you need an AI avatar intro, connect it with HeyGen, or use YouTube for search-oriented long-form distribution.
- Turn long web pages into a single image or PDF with scrolling capture, and apply numbers, arrows, and pixelation directly for bug reports and user guides.
- When demoing an iOS app built with Xcode on macOS, you can use USB device capture together with the camera overlay.
