SaaS SEO Page Type Priority
Order the writing of nine SaaS SEO page types by search intent and competitive strength
Definition
A way of dividing the SEO pages a SaaS can build into nine types by the shape of the search term and the visitor's intent, then setting the writing order to start with the types that carry high buy intent or weak competition.

The order and conditions are as follows.
| Order | Page type | Query form | Judgment |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Alternative | alternative to X, cheaper alternative to X | Highest buy intent — someone shopping for a replacement — and the incumbent cannot compete for it, so write these first |
| 2 | Comparison | X vs Y, X pricing vs Y pricing | You must be honest about your weaknesses to cut the distrust of a biased sales page |
| 3 | Integration | Tools + Slack/Stripe/Shopify | Borrows another brand's search volume, faces weak competition, and easily carries real usage |
| 4 | Constraint | without credit card, open source tools | Whether the constraint is met is binary, so write only when you actually satisfy it |
| 5 | Pricing | X pricing, tools under €50 | Buy intent is high, but directories and review sites are strong, so write after the first four types |
| 6 | Use case | tools to generate leads | Searched by the job to be done rather than the category, but competes with category leaders, so results come slowly |
| 7 | Problem | tools to reduce X, save time on X | A low-intent, long-term page that captures readers who don't yet know the category |
| 8 | Feature | tools with API/AI/reporting | Write only for features that are a competitive advantage; skip ordinary ones |
| 9 | Company size | tools for freelancers/SMEs | Write only when the product genuinely behaves differently per audience; avoid duplicate pages that only swap the H1 |
How to apply
- Fits a SaaS with named incumbents to be an alternative to and integrations worth a page; a product with no competitor or partner names to borrow search volume from loses the top three types and starts lower in the list.
- Constraint, feature and company-size pages are write-only-if-true: only constraints the product meets, features that are a real advantage, audiences the product genuinely behaves differently for. A page that only swaps the H1 is a duplicate.
- With existing impressions, use this order on the candidates from Finding Content Gaps from Search Impression Data; on a new site with no data it is the starting order itself. Statistics and trends pages are a data-asset type outside these nine — Statistics & Trends SEO Pages for Small Sites.
- Move to the next type after checking indexing, impressions and clicks of the first batch in Google Search Console. The same page types aimed at AI recommendation rather than Google ranking are in Building Product Information Surfaces for AI Search.
Limits
- The priority of the nine types and the timing of results are the author's experiential judgment, and no comparative data is presented.
- The title mentions Claude automation, but the body has no automation procedure, prompts, or review method.
- Competitive strength and search intent can vary with the product, market, and domain authority.
- The source also includes ChatSEO promotion and a separate Ahrefs-alternatives article collected from an example link, but this page organizes only the nine-page-types claim.
